What should my son wear to his school formal?
Your son has mentioned his school formal is coming up, but he is growing at a rate of knots and you definitely want to keep the cost down. Or you want to get him a nice suit so that he can wear it to weddings and interviews.
We recommend black as a great all-round suit, and perfect for a formal. Nice and simple and then you can accessorize with the shirt, tie and lapel flower.
Normally these accessories tie in with what the girl is wearing, so make sure you prompt him to find out in advance.
As well as being a great colour for formals, black suits are perfect for interviews, weddings and funerals, so see it as a bit of an investment, not just a purchase for a one-off occasion.
Q for you
1) Have you bought your formal suit already, but aren’t sure how to match your partner?
2) Are you unsure on sizing and need some help?

Why it is important to dress well for Work
How do you look in the morning before you leave for work? Do you plan your work wardrobe for the week? Do you check the mirror before you head for the door? In the world in which we live, despite being judged by our actions, I believe that we are still first and foremost judged by our appearance.Leave a Reply
My Top Tips on buying & looking after a Suit

Travelling in a suit
If you travel on a plane for business and need to go to a meeting immediately after you land, wear a nice pure wool suit, though not too thin a fabric as it will end up looking completely creased. A super 100 to 130 fabric is ideal. Pick a cotton rich shirt (55 – 60% cotton, the rest polyester). This won’t crease on the plane whilst you are sitting down. I suggest you wear your suit jacket, shirt and jeans. Get the attendant to hang your trousers up, then just before you land, slip them on. Keep the tie in your suit pocket and put it on also as you land or before you get to your meeting. ( use a mirror ).

Dry Cleaning a Suit
How often do I dry clean my suits? I have 5 suits, I wear one every day of the week with two trousers and I alternate these. Now I am in the business so I have to wear different suits every day.
I would recommend at least two suits if not three suits with 2 sets of trousers. Alternate these and you will see your suits last longer.
I Dry Clean my suits once every quarter. I go to a reputable dry cleaner, remember cheaper is not always better. If they over steam or over use the chemicals in their dry cleaning process they will scorch and ruin your suits, making them shiny.
Another trick I have learnt ( providing there is no stain on your suit to be removed), is to hang it up on the back of the door when you have a shower. The steam will freshen up the fibre’s and your suit will be as good as new. Plus it didn’t cost you a dollar.

Dry Cleaning your Suit
Suit fabrics are becoming more and more durable and manufacturers are using new fabric technology to make suits, durable and breathable.
Dry cleaning a suit to often will ruin the fabric, with all the chemicals a dry cleaner uses make them shinny. We have all seen that guy walking into the office looking like you can get satellite reception off the static from his suit.
A little trick I learnt while I was travelling on business is at the end of the day hang your suit up neatly on its hanger ( not a wire or thin hanger ). Hang the trousers on the horizontal bar lining up the trouser crease. and pop it on the back of the door when you have a shower. The steam will refresh the natural fibres of the suit, making it feel all fresh and new and it hasn’t cost you a dollar.
We stock and sell a variety of two trousers suits. Suits with two trousers are very popular in Australia, due to the climate here. You will wear the trousers more than you will wear the jacket as it is very warm most of the year.
A customer has just popped in, he was complaining his extra pair of trousers from a two trouser suit he bought 6 months ago, is a different shade to his jacket and his other pair of trousers. This is due to him only wearing one trouser constantly and leaving the other one in the closet. Also he was dry cleaning only the jacket and one of the trousers.
If you have a two trousers suit and you are saving the 2nd pair for a ‘just in case’ moment, don’t ! Alternate your trousers wearing. Wear one, one week and wear another the next.
Most importantly dry clean the jacket and both trousers together. That way you won’t be spotted in meetings with a jacket with a different shade of trousers.

Non Iron Business Shirt
I get asked many times during the week, I want a non iron business shirt. I carry several brands in my store and have personally wore every brand I carry to test an try it. ( much to my wife’s detest, as I take up most of the wardrobe )
Geoffrey Beene non iron shirts are exactly what they say they are. You don’t have to iron them, just wash and hang it out to dry. If you need to give it a quick iron, iron the chest, back and arms. NEVER iron the collar or the cuff. Great shirt, reasonable price and long long lasting.

Hi I found this if it helps you?
